Sterling Vacations, Tourism & Travel Information

OUR TAKE ON STERLING

Sterling, Colorado is one of the largest towns in the north of Colorado.  With a population of about 14,000, it is not only a shopping center, but a travel destination for outdoor enthusiasts.  The North Sterling State park is the center of tourism each year.  The reservoir is a great place for boating and fishing.  The pet friendly park has picnic areas, walking trails for hikers, as well as camping sites.

Stop in at the visitor's center for maps and ctivities.  Sterling has two 18-hole golf courses, as well as the enjoyable Overland Trail recreation area.  This kid and pet friendly location has a fishing pond, fishing pier, many trails, picnic areas, and grassy areas for relaxation.  THis is a great place for the whole family!  If you are interested in learning about the city's history, visit the Overland Trail Museum.  The main building looks like an old fort, and is surrounded by some restored historical buildings, as well as housing many artifacts.  Admission is Free.

For a romantic getaway, we recommend a stay at the Old Library Inn Bed and Breakfast, located in the historic Carnegie Library Building.  Great hospitality and a journey back in time await.  For an exciting family vacation, join the Pawnee Pioneer Trails Wagon Train.  Experience what it was like as an early settler in a covered wagon, riding across the prairies.
