Rifle Vacations, Tourism & Travel Information

Our Take on Rifle, Colorado

Rifle, Colorado, a three hour's drive west of Denver, is a community right out of the old west, founded in 1882.  Voted one of the top 200 towns for sportsmen, Rifle vacations center around outdoor recreation and sport.  The stunning Rifle Falls State park is located just 15 miles north of town,  and the falls are a very kid friendly destination.  Named one of the top ten waterfalls to visit, simply drive to the trailhead and park, and within a 100 yard hike you have arrived.

For a unique experience, go spelunking in the mysterious Limestone caves, formed by a 50ft. waterfall.  Family vacations in Rifle are for nature lovers and explorers.  Go fishing, hiking, backpacking, mountainbiking, or horseback riding.  Get to know the town and its history by visiting the Rifle Creek Museum, admission is free.  Walk around hisoric downtown and look for the public sculptures.  Rifle accomodations vary from cabins in the woods, to camping along streams, to modern accomodations.  You will find dozens of pet friendly lodgings in this town.  We recommend the historic Hotel Colorado, a pet friendly hotel built in 1893.  Rifle restaurants range from fine dining, to good old home cooking, to Mexican fare.
