Montrose Vacations, Tourism & Travel Information

OUR TAKE ON MONTROSE

Montrose, Colorado, situated on the western slope of the Rockies, is a 125 year old community with very mild seasons.  Millions of visitors travel here annually for its scenic byways, parks, gorges, and the many recreational activities that these provide.  Montrose vacations are for families that love the outdoors.  We recommend a trip to th Black Canyon National Park, with depths of 2000 feet and many geological and fossil formations.

Not to miss is the pet friendly Gunnison Gorge, located east of Montrose.  Here, embark on exciting white water rafting adventures, or mountain biking trips; or simply admire the natural wonders of the location.  For a more kid friendly day, head to the Climbing Tree Children's Museum, a very interactive destination with many hands on activities, demonstrations, puppet theater, and exhibits.  Downtown Montrose also has some leisurely things to do.  Start at the Visitor's Center, in the Ute Indian Museum.  Get a map of the Antique trail, and go antiquing in historic downtown.  Walking historic tours are also a special way to get to know the town.  We recommend you visit on a weekend, so you can take advantage of the Farmer's Market, which takes place every Saturday in Centennial Plaza.
