Our Take on Durango, Colorado
Durango is placed at the crossroads of state highways that serves the Four Corners area, because of this, Durango has become an incredibly popular stop-over for San Juan residents. But Durango Colorado definitely deserves more than just a passing glance because this mid-sized town located in the southwestern part of Colorado offers plenty of amenities and services for travelers. In addition, Durango is highly popular for San Juan explorations because of its strategic locations. It can be the gateway to the desert country in the south and west as well.
Its downtown is full of structures and buildings that date back to the 1800s when the town had served as the mining base for Silverton operations. When you are on Durango vacations, one thing you should not miss is the ride through the historic Durango/Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad because it is more of the most beautiful rides you can experience in the west. There are also a number of galleries and man-made structures that add attractiveness to the natural splendor of the Durango countryside.
