OUR TAKE ON CASTLE ROCK
Castle Rock is best known for its incredible campgrounds that are great for hiking, horseback riding, or simply walking. In particular, the Castle Rock State Park is popular for its coast redwood, madrone forests, and Douglas fir that are left in its natural and wild state. It is no wonder then that a lot of travelers make it a point to see the beauty of Castle Rock.
Located near the crest of Santa Cruz Mountains, the Castle Rock State Park is also sprinkled with interesting and unique rock formations that will challenge even the best rock climber. The forest in the area is incredibly lush and green. Over 32 miles of trails is available for anyone to enjoy. Take note that this trail is actually a part of a greater trail system that extends to San Lorenzo Valley and Santa Cruz. Among other parks it encompasses include the Pacific Coast and the Big Basin Redwoods State Park.
