The North Rim is much less crowded and if you have a 4wheel drive you can go on some of the back roads that lead to the rim, such as Toroweap, where you will be nearly alone and able to truly experience the Canyon-no guard rails! more on Yahoo! Travel

The entrance fee is a little steep compared to other national parks and the gift shops will clean your pocketbook right quick, but that's to be expected at a major tourist attraction. more on Yahoo! Travel
