Kid Friendly Watsonville

Watsonville is a small agricultural town located to the south of the beach town of Santa Cruz, California. It's a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the Bay Area. The beaches are quiet and windswept, kids can enjoy strawberries straight from the fields, and the city is home to some of the best Taqueria's in the Bay Area. It's the perfect place for a sweet and spicy family getaway.

One of the last beach front properties built on the California Coast, these condos overlook a gorgeous wild stretch of beach along the Monterey Bay. Every season is a wonder at this beach side escape. One year we collected a multitude of sand dollars another we saw dolphins and whales breaching out on the water.

Sunset State Beach
If beach side condominiums are not in your family budget consider camping at nearby Sunset State Beach. The same access to the beach at a much more affordable price!
I can hardly wait to take my kids on a kayaking adventure!

Super Taqueria
There are definately more local hole in the wall sort of taco joints in this small town, but if you're looking for quality food with plenty of seating and a gringo friendly menu this may be the place for you.

Elkhorn Slough Estuarine Reserve
A short drive from Watsonville this beautiful natural reserve is a great place to bird watch or kayak. The Visitor's center even checks out binoculars!

Kayak Connection, Moss Landing
My husband and I have gone kayaking in Elkhorn Slough through the Kayak Connection in Moss Landing. The experience is great, they provide everything you need to keep dry and have fun. I can hardly wait to take my kids on a kayaking adventure!
