Our Take on Venice, California

Popularly referred as Venice Beach, this area in California is home a great scene of funky lifestyle, laid-back fun, and of course, luxurious Venice accommodations. What is impressive about this area is the fact that it was the dream and creation of a single person, Abbott Kinney. He builds a system of canals as well as a massive entertainment complex in 1905; up to this date, some of the canals survived and it makes Venice look fascinating and diverse.

The Pacific Ocean Park complex survived until the 60's; by then, it succumbed to the competition bought about by Disneyland and other entertainment centers. However, the spirit of seaside fun remains in Venice, particularly in the Boardwalk. So if you are on Venice vacations, be sure to see some of the old canals that remain because these are home to some of Los Angeles's eclectic architecture.

Meanwhile, you should stop by the Abbot Kinney district as well. This area is a hotspot for creative minds, including hipsters and artists. A number of up-and-coming art galleries and dozens of clothing boutiques dot the area.
