Clear Lake Weekend on a Budget

Clear Lake is a small town located on the the shores of Clear Lake. It can offer a great relaxing weekend that is very easy on the pocketbook. There are excellent restaurants and plenty of venues for listening to music. There is even wine tasting. The lake itself offers a beautiful backdrop.

This is undoubtedly the best place to stay in Clear Lake. This resort features cottages equipped with kitchens, and amenities that include canoe rentals and boat launches. Starting at only $49 for a cottage, the price can't be beat.
This is a great steakhouse on the lake. Offering American cuisine that includes everything from Prime Rib to Red Snapper. There is an extensive all-you-can eat salad bar as well. Most people compare it to the Outback Steakhouse, but it is typically $7 per person cheaper than Outback according to people who have tried both.
This winery offers tastings from 10am to 5pm Tuesday through Sunday.
If you need to get your San Francisco-style coffee shop fix, this is the place. Live music and poetry readings give this coffee shop an edgy atmosphere-and the coffee is pretty good too.
Built in 1876 in response to rapid growth caused by the quicksilver (mercury) mining boom, the jail is very small, one of the smallest in the United States, . More of a statement than anything else, this jail stands today as a monument to times past. Worth a look as it is on the lake shore and nearby.
