Skiing South Lake Tahoe with Kids

Our family spent Christmas week here last winter. South Lake Tahoe is a small ski town with plenty to offer. We had fun skiing, going to the movies, and getting ready for a white Christmas.

This is the perfect ski resort for families. They have a high quality daycare and all day ski lessons where kids are fed a nutritious lunch. I was amazed at my five year old's progress. By the second day she was on the main lift, skiing down the beginner slope. The adult lessons are great as well. The instructors really take the time to help you learn. They make it their personal mission to get you down the slope. This is a great resort for beginners.

Holiday Inn Express South Lake Tahoe

This was a great hotel to stay in with kids. The convenient laundry room came in handy to dry wet clothes. Be sure to bring a swim suit, for the indoor hot tub. The kids loved the doughnuts for breakfast!

We didn't have a chance to check this one out, but the South Lake Tahoe visitor's bureau highly recommended this sledding destination.

Taqueria Jalisco

We had delicious burritos here. The staff was friendly and the food was cheap and high quality. Take some back to the hotel room and enjoy a quiet dinner with the kids.

Heavenly Ski Resort

For a splurge, Heavenly is a great ski resort to visit. Many of my fellow travel bloggers have enjoyed their visits here. Past the parking lot is a great hill for sledding..

Hansen's Toboggan & Saucer Hill

We didn't have a chance to check this one out, but the South Lake Tahoe visitor's bureau highly recommended this sledding destination.

The instructors really take the time to help you learn.
