Romantic Getaway in San Leandro

Occasionally, I like a romantic getaway that requires little thought and almost no driving. The lovely and lively San Leandro Marina will give you the opportunity to relax, be pampered with fine food and enjoy each other's company. Your hotel, the Marina Inn, is right on the marina--as the name implies--and there are three nice restaurants within walking distance. Stroll or jog around the park and stop and take in the colors of sunset. If you feel like shaking it up a bit, visit FearOverload to get your adrenal glands pumping again.

This is a privately owned hotel--not a chain--and it shows. Somehow the owners manage to maintain a personable feel in this fairly large hotel. Nicely situated right on the Marina, you will be able to step out your door and enjoy a romantic walk through Marina Park while taking in the scenic views of the bay.
Horatio's is a wonderful seafood restaurant that is within walking distance of the Marina Inn. While the emphasis is seafood for the appetizers, the dinner menu includes non-seafood dishes such as Twice Roasted Herb Stuffed Chicken.
You will creep through the dark endless halls and be assaulted by ghouls, zombies and maggot ridden corpses.
This is Italian-seafood-eclectic-fusion (can you say 3 times in a row really fast?) at its best. The food is consistently good here but what I really like is that you don't have to dress up in fancy-shmancy attire; clean and neat dress is all that is required. You can go for a jog around this pretty lake or rent a canoe and find a place for a romantic picnic. This is 315 acres for hiking, biking or whatever. Personally, my favorite romantic getaway includes what I call honeymoon-fly-fishing (yes, you heard right) and this lake is well stocked with trout.
From your hotel you will be able to step outside and enjoy the marina. Take a romantic stroll through the Marina Park, have a picnic, visit the shops or one of the three restaurants in the area. If you are golfers you will appreciate the driving range and 2 golf courses in the area.

This is not your neighborhood house dressed up for Halloween with some fake spider webs and goofy plastic Walmart jack-o-lanterns. Fear overload specializes in the art of fear. I am the Vice President of an international, non-profit conservation organization, Save the Turtles, Inc. My eight years as a hands-on VP has provided me with plenty of experience writing web content, proposals, ad copy, brochures, fliers, promotional material, letters of inquiry (the list could go on and on.) Writing for Save the Turtle's website has provided me with great exposure to the concepts and practices of SEO. It seems that we have done rather well as our Google ranking is most often number one on the page. Although, I am still on the board of Save the Turtles and every bit as passionate about saving endangered species as ever, I am currently also enjoying another incarnation as a freelance writer. I love, love, love writing travel blogs! Lately, I have been writing for Uptake.com. and Mynatour, an eco-travel site based in London. I have also written an number of articles for other sites covering such wide-ranging topics as health, food, real estate, and science. My goal, with each writing assignment, is to match each clients individual needs by writing with an appropriate "voice" and level of readability for each unique, target audience. Please feel free to scroll and read!
