Romantic Getaway in St. Helena

I think a visit to historic St. Helena in the Napa Valley is one of the most romantic getaways of all. The wines are of course, excellent, and the cuisine is some of the best in the world, so plan to splurge on at least one night of fine dining. Take a bicycle wine tour and step back in time as you cruise--away from the crowds--on the old farm roads that cut though mature vineyards. Stop for a picnic lunch at your favorite winery.

This lovely historic Victorian Inn set on 4 acres of gardens and vineyards provides the perfect setting for romance. Experience the quintessential historic ambiance of the old Napa Valley.
Experience fine dining against the backdrop of the Napa Valley. The cuisine is French Mediterranean. Auberge du Soleil is a very romantic place to dine.
A visit to the Culinary Institute of America--formerly Christian Brother's Winery--is a must for those who love fine food.
Unless you reserve months in advance it's almost impossible to get a reservation here, but if you're lucky enough to score one, be sure to go. Considered one of best restaurants in the world, the French Laundry is mui pricey, but worth it.
Visit St. Helena Cyclery to rent a bike. Take one of their suggested wine country bike tours to experience a scenic relaxing cruise through mature vineyards away from the crowds. Stop for a picnic at your favorite winery.

A visit to the Culinary Institute of America--formerly Christian Brother's Winery--is a must for those who love fine food. Sign up in advance for a cooking demonstration and taste the rewards. The historic, stone monastery and grounds alone, are worth the visit, but add gourmet food and you have a real winner.

I am the Vice President of an international, non-profit conservation organization, Save the Turtles, Inc. My eight years as a hands-on VP has provided me with plenty of experience writing web content, proposals, ad copy, brochures, fliers, promotional material, letters of inquiry (the list could go on and on.) Writing for Save the Turtle's website has provided me with great exposure to the concepts and practices of SEO. It seems that we have done rather well as our Google ranking is most often number one on the page. Although, I am still on the board of Save the Turtles and every bit as passionate about saving endangered species as ever, I am currently also enjoying another incarnation as a freelance writer. I love, love, love writing travel blogs! Lately, I have been writing for Uptake.com. and Mynatour, an eco-travel site based in London. I have also written an number of articles for other sites covering such wide-ranging topics as health, food, real estate, and science. My goal, with each writing assignment, is to match each clients individual needs by writing with an appropriate "voice" and level of readability for each unique, target audience. Please feel free to scroll and read!
