Enjoy an Overnight Stay and Find Fun Less than a Block Away

There are several great hotels and B&Bs to choose from when in the Sacramento area, but nothing quite beats the heart of the downtown area from which you can walk in any direction and find food, frolicking and fun. Restaurants, theaters, parks, dance clubs, bars, sightseeing - you name it, this area's got it. Once here, you can catch a cab, pedicab, trolly or even horse-drawn carriage to get around, but don't forget the one thing always at your fingertips: your feet!

I've got to say... I'm from Sacramento, and still, a night at Sacramento's Hyatt Regency felt like a true getaway! The staff was very friendly, from the front desk clerk to the room service staff. We loved our room - very classy - and the view from it - a great panorama of the downtown area. We had the potato skins at Dawson's Bar to tide us over, and they were so hearty that they did that and more. The bed was comfy, the room was quiet, and we will definitely be returning.

Spataro is a slightly upscale restaurant with very good food, a nice modern (but not cold) ambiance, and a fantastic happy hour. They also have a great outdoor patio overlooking Capitol Park. It's just a hop, skip and a jump away from the Hyatt (basically a block), and I highly recommend giving this place a go!
From musicals to the ballet, the performances are truly enjoyable.

And if you like to dress up, it's one of the last places where "classy" is always better.

If you love to dance and can handle the "younger crowd", The Park Ultralounge is the place to be on a Friday or Saturday night. If you like quiet classy, dimly-lit places for an early evening martini and half-priced appetizer, The Park has always been a hidden secret in this regard. If you prefer a nice dinner out, The Park has this too; but it's called Cafeteria 15L (formerly Masons). More
