A Weekend On A Budget In Sacramento

With all of the enticing location of California, I feel like the state capital is often overlooked. For such a large city it has a small town feel. There's tons to do and you can easily do it without spending a lot of money.

I love this farmer's market! There's a life to this one that you don't often see and the sellers couldn't be nicer. You can't beat their fresh produce, eggs, and gourmet samplings of various tidbits. Plus, in the spring and summer there's live music.
Sacramento boasts a great zoo. You should really check it out. They have a great collection of animals- red pandas, a reptile house, monkeys, giraffes, and tigers to name a few. Plus there are a bunch of nice gardens to relax in and have some lunch.
Try to get there early because there's a good chance you'll have to wait.
Zelda's is definitely worth a stop on a trip to Sacramento. They serve up a very unique pizza with a thick crust, tasty sauce, and copious amounts of cheese. There's nothing else like it!
Does wearing a hard hat while riding a cart through an old gold mine sound cool? Then check out this tour. The grizzled old guys that run the tours are very knowledgeable and are full of interesting funny stories. If you have kids they'll love panning for gold in the gift shop.
Pancakes the size of your head, omelets that could absorb a planet. Jim Denny's is the place to go for breakfast or brunch. It's delicious and they're going to give you a lot of it. Try to get there early because there's a good chance you'll have to wait.
You should really check it out.
