Napa Vacations, Tourism & Travel Information

OUR TAKE ON NAPA

It’s always great to have an insider's guide to Napa vacations because there are so many choices. Some of the most notable wineries travelers might want to put on their Napa California to do list may not be the most well known, but then again locals know best.

Newton is known to be architecturally lovely serving amazing wines by appointment only. Far Niente is a beautiful winery with great wines. They make a great Chardonnay and Cabernet with some of the classiest packaging in the industry. The late owner, Gil Nickle, collects exotic automobiles and has tons of them at the winery.  Hess Collection is a must see for art lovers. This winery has a three-story art gallery with some very famous art getting great reviews. They have great wine and a mineral water that will blow your mind. The winery is just west of the city of Napa on a beautiful, winding redwood lined road. Great drive, great winery. No reservations needed, and it’s self guided art tour.

Hungry? Good. There are so many amazing restaurants in Napa. Try Mustards Grill which is one of the original culinary stars of Napa. Oakville Grocery is an adorable marketplace where they custom make gourmet sandwiches that will make your mouth water. Maybe you might like to check out the wine train which will take you around the area and is an experience in and of itself. Really, you can’t go wrong. A great resource id napavalley.com where you will find an extensive list of lodging options.

For a romantic getaway in Napa Valley, try the Candlelight Inn, an elegant Bed and Breakfast on the banks of Napa Creek.

Whatever you do, thanks for making Uptake your first step!
