OUR TAKE ON MURPHYS

Head southeast of Sacramento for about an hour and you will find the charming town of Murphys, California. Things to do won’t be hard to find as it is located in the gold coast region and is considered a historically preserved town, where families can visit the gold trading posts and even take a history walk which makes the typical family vacation into an educational experience as well.

We know it is kid friendly, but what’s in it for mom and dad? Well, they can sip wines from the local wineries before the family heads to the frog races. Yes, that’s right, frog races. After that, you may choose to participate in a grape stomp, a street faire, a gold rush day, or one of many summer plays. Rich with history, travelers will find lodging and restaurants built as early as 1856.

Many will choose to rent a house in the historic town.  Others will enjoy a cozy bed and breakfast, like The Dunbar House, which was established in 1880. All in all, a Murphys, California vacation will prove to be a fun way to experience history while being located in a place where the natural scenery is beautiful.
