Serving local, organic cuisine in a relaxed and romantic atmosphere, the Flea Street Cafe in Menlo Park is just outside of downtown Menlo Park. We like to go and sit at the bar for drinks and dessert during the week; in the summer, the outside patio beckons.
Visit the Sunset Magazine Gardens and bring home inspiration for your own project. Gardens are open for self-tour, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Stanford Shopping Center, in nearby Palo Alto, is a great place to indulge in retail therapy. Lots of shops for all parts of your life, including Cartier and Tiffany if you need a shiny bauble to commemorate the weekend.
Nothing says romance like a brisk walk up a steep mountain. But never fear, this hill is not too steep and the trip up to Skyline offers gorgeous views of the Peninsula. Take a bottle of water, your honey, and hit the trail.
The best local bookstore in town, Kepler's is the place to go for all your reading material. Perhaps you will chose something to read together? Or maybe not. Individuality is still important on a romantic weekend!
