Romantic Getaway in Healdsburg

The Healdsburg Wine Country area is every bit as stunning as the Napa Valley yet, less crowded and more reasonably priced. And the wines are good too. This is the place where the green rolling hills meet the sea, of ocean cliffs, redwood forests and vineyards arching over hillsides. It is a place where a ten minute drive can mean a drop in temperatures of 20 degrees (great on a hot day). Ok, I'm biased (local girl) but to me western Sonoma County is Tuscany, the South of France, and Big Sur all rolled into one scenic package.

There is nothing quite as romantic as a plantation style Victorian bed and breakfast in the heart of Sonoma Wine Country.

Elegant ambiance, French cuisine, how romantic is that? This is a restaurant for that very special night, the one that honors your love.
Lovely gardens, champagne tasting, great gourmet deli: this winery is a must-see.
This scenic river journey takes you places that feel far removed from the world, just you and someone special (and maybe the dog?) on and eco-adventure that you will long remember. Yes you can bring your dog friends too.
Lovely gardens, champagne tasting, great gourmet deli: this winery is a must-see. Have lunch at the cafe, take the rose garden tour (1 & 3 pm daily in season) and sample some wonderful champagne.
Take a tour of the wonderful wineries on Westside road. One of your stops should be the historic Hop Kiln Winery where you can picnic by the duck pond with views of glorious vineyard covered valley and the ancient (now extinct) volcano of Mt. St. Helena.

Voted the "National Bakery of the Year" in 2009, this bakery offers some of the best French pastry around. Sit streetside on a nice day: eat brioche, drink fine coffee and watch the world go by. More

I am the Vice President of an international, non-profit conservation organization, Save the Turtles, Inc. My eight years as a hands-on VP has provided me with plenty of experience writing web content, proposals, ad copy, brochures, fliers, promotional material, letters of inquiry (the list could go on and on.) Writing for Save the Turtle's website has provided me with great exposure to the concepts and practices of SEO. It seems that we have done rather well as our Google ranking is most often number one on the page. Although, I am still on the board of Save the Turtles and every bit as passionate about saving endangered species as ever, I am currently also enjoying another incarnation as a freelance writer. I love, love, love writing travel blogs! Lately, I have been writing for Uptake.com. and Mynatour, an eco-travel site based in London. I have also written an number of articles for other sites covering such wide-ranging topics as health, food, real estate, and science. My goal, with each writing assignment, is to match each clients individual needs by writing with an appropriate "voice" and level of readability for each unique, target audience. Please feel free to scroll and read!
