A Local's Recommendation for Sebastopol

Sebastopol is small town America with quaint wine-country charm. In the downtown area, there are plenty of shops, fine restaurants, and even a repertory theater to keep you busy. Venture into the surrounding rural areas and you will find vineyards, wineries, the Russian River, redwood forests and glorious beaches. You can't miss with a vacation like this.

The Sebastopol Inn is perfect for those who want to experience life in a quaint wine-county town. The Inn is a short walk to great dining: sushi, seafood, pizza, you can pretty much name your cuisine. It's also close the Hopmunk Tavern for an evening of music, tasty pub-food and home brews.
Looking for a more rural experience? Set in pastoral vineyards with beautiful views, this Victorian B&B is a dream that you won't want to awaken from. It's a great place to land after a day of wine tasting, biking, or canoeing on the Russian River.

This is excellent, reasonably priced Thai food right down the street from the Sebastopol Inn.
Sushi Tozai's atmosphere is defined by elegant, Japanese handcrafted woodwork. The food is excellent and ranges from traditional sushi to creative variations. Moderately priced with great service, sushi lovers will not be disappointed.
Laguna de Santa Rosa is one of the few local wetlands that still thrive. See the vernal pools where egrets, falcons and osprey still fish and nest. Visit the Laguna Foundation website to preregister for upcoming walks and classes.

Go east on the Joe Rodota Trail and you will pass through the Laguna wetlands and meadows on your way to Santa Rosa. Go northwest though Sebastopol and you will eventually find yourself passing through farmland and vineyards on your way to the quaint berg of Forestville. Biking or hiking, either way, you can't lose on this lovely trail. More

I am the Vice President of an international, non-profit conservation organization, Save the Turtles, Inc. My eight years as a hands-on VP has provided me with plenty of experience writing web content, proposals, ad copy, brochures, fliers, promotional material, letters of inquiry (the list could go on and on.) Writing for Save the Turtle's website has provided me with great exposure to the concepts and practices of SEO. It seems that we have done rather well as our Google ranking is most often number one on the page. Although, I am still on the board of Save the Turtles and every bit as passionate about saving endangered species as ever, I am currently also enjoying another incarnation as a freelance writer. I love, love, love writing travel blogs! Lately, I have been writing for Uptake.com. and Mynatour, an eco-travel site based in London. I have also written an number of articles for other sites covering such wide-ranging topics as health, food, real estate, and science. My goal, with each writing assignment, is to match each clients individual needs by writing with an appropriate "voice" and level of readability for each unique, target audience. Please feel free to scroll and read!
