Graeagle, CA Weekend with Kids

Graeagle, as well as the greater Plumas County area of Northern CA, is a high sierra hamlet tucked snuggly within the Sierra Nevada mountain range. A beautiful retreat at any time of year, it offers outdoor recreation and stunning mountain scenery every nature-loving family will appreciate.

What we like best is how many routes are offered: there's something for everyone, no matter how experienced or non-experienced your hikers! There is also a campground; plan ahead because it fills up in the summer months!

Several miles from Graeagle in Johnsville, you'll find Plumas-Eureka State Park, a wonderful place to learn about local history. Check out the old mill and press, tour a period home, and visit the well-stocked museum.
If you have a golfer in your group, take the kids over to the Graeagle Mill Pond (downtown Graeagle) for a swim while one parent hits the links. Graeagle Meadows is not only well-known in golf circles but offers the best views and scenery while playing your round (in my humble opinion!).
Get in touch with the region's rich railroading past at the Portola Railroad Museum, ten miles from Graeagle. This museum is surprisingly extensive, featuring engines kids can climb inside, seasonal rides, and indoor exhibits. Low cost.
