Fullerton Weekend on a Budget

Fullerton is a city of over 100,000 in northern Orange County. It's one of the few towns in the area with a distinct downtown neighborhood, combined with stately old homes, and the second largest university in the state. Fullerton gets frequently overlooked by tourists headed to Disneyland, but there's enough to do in the immediate area that you can avoid the high prices of Anaheim and have a fun-filled, relaxing weekend.

Rutabegorz Restaurant

A mainstay in Fullerton for nearly 40 years, Rutabegorz is a health-conscious, casual restaurant specializing in soups, salads, and sandwiches. I used to eat here quite often during my college days, and the prices are still reasonable for such a good meal.

Richard Nixon Library And Birthplace

A fascinating look at a failed presidency is in neighboring Yorba Linda. Located at the edge of the West Coyote Hills, this large park features a wonderful walking trail leading to the top of Camel Hill, from which you can see for miles, all the way to Catalina Island.
