Fort Bragg Weekend with Kids

Fort Bragg is lesser-known than its neighbor Mendocino, but every bit as beautiful. Expect your weekend here to be filled with fresh air, outdoor adventure, and small town charm. There's something about forests and rugged coastline that go just perfectly together, don't you think? (You will, after visiting!)

Throw a pebble in Fort Bragg and you'll hit a quaint B&B, but nothing beats the Beachcomber for a relaxing weekend with kids. Situated right on the beach, what we love best is the coastal trail that runs right past it, making it the perfect location for hikers and bicyclists. Splurge and get a suite with hot tub and fireplace!
Glass Beach is the story of nature triumphing over mankind: beach glass can be found all over its shore because, believe it or not, it used to be a city dump. In the decades since, the ocean has reclaimed its beauty, dumping tons of glass and other waste back onto the beaches. Now you can find beautiful beach glass!

We think Jackson State park is THE best place to walk among old growth redwoods. Why? The lack of other people! Less crowded than Redwoods National Park, this area is just as spectacular, and day use is only a few dollars!
If you brought the family dog along on your coastal getaway, this is the place to be. Leashed dogs are welcome in the botanical garden's 47 acres (they're also welcome at Noyo Beach). Kids will like all the places to play, hidden pathways to explore, and open space. It's a perfect nice weather activity!
Located on Franklin St, this local institution is not only a great place for breakfast, but for lunch as well (open until 3 pm). Kids love their individual pizzas made with fresh dough!
