Take an afternoon happy hour cruise in the smallest licensed bar in the state of California, while geese and cranes fly overhead. The tiny Madaket ship, originally constructed in 1910, is owned and operated by the Humboldt Bay Maritime Museum,. During spring and summer you can have the best view of Eureka and Humboldt Bay by hopping along for a ride where you'll breathe in fresh salty air, wave to boats and rowers who gracefully paddle alongside, and watch numerous sea birds dive into the cool bay waters looking for a snack. One of the best times to catch a cruise is during summer, when the City of Eureka hosts their Wednesday evening summer concerts on the boardwalk and the entire waterfront area turns into a casual after-work party.
