A Local's Recommendation In Danville
Danville has that small town feel that always makes you feel welcome. It's downtown area is very nice and has a number of nice restaurants, shops, and there's a great farmers market on Saturdays. There are a number of things to do outdoors and San Francisco and Oakland are not far off for a day trip either.
The Museum of the San Ramon valley is a quaint little spot that is worth a visit. They have exhibits about the history of the area with detailed representations about geology, prehistoric fossils, and precolumbian artifacts. Right now there is an exhibit about veterans from the San Ramon valley. Check it!
Mount Diablo boasts a nice scenic trail with many types of scenery to enjoy. The trail is extensive and if you make it all the way to the summit you can savor a pretty awesome view for miles. I hear from time to time people see coyotes around the trails but they only thing I came in contact with were rabbits scurrying around.

This hotel is in a good location and its cheap. As if that weren't enough the staff is friendly, they have an outdoor pool, a small gym, and its clean and comfortable. The next time I'm in the area I'll be staying here.
