Modesto Weekend with the Kids

Hand-mansion2004

Hey, if you are going to be passing through Modesto you might want to consider getting a nice room for the family at the Courtyard by Marriott and spending a few days. This town really has it "goin' on" when it comes to family fun. Stop in at the McHenry Mansion for some lifelike educational exhibits that show what it was like to live in Modesto over 100 years ago. Visit McHenry Bowl for some family bowling, and be sure to set aside a whole day for some big-time excitement at Boomers.

One of the best things about this hotel is the free breakfast that comes with the deal. This is a full-on breakfast, not just some boxes of cereal thrown on a counter. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The Courtyard is close to restaurants and downtown activities.
This perfectly restored mansion is an historical gem that even the kids will enjoy. The permanent exhibits shows life as it was over 100 years ago. You will see period replicas of a blacksmith shop, general store, dentist office and more. Book your trip for March 17th to attend their Open House Art Walk. Be serenaded by Irish music as... More >

This place has totally rockin' spot-on great Italian food.

How about some good old-fashioned family bowling fun. Mchenery Bowl, remodeled in 2007, is very popular, so unless you arrive before 4 pm, be prepared to wait a few minutes. There is a bar, pro shop, and pizza place on site. Show up early on a Sunday for some pizza and get in on the bargain rates.
This place has totally rockin' spot-on great Italian food. How does Baked Seafood Rigatoni in a lobster cream sauce sound to you right now? What about Baked Rigatoni with ricootta cheese? From seafood to pizza lovers, everyone will find something good to eat here.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable.
OK, so I'm recommending another Italian place, but this time the emphasis is on the pizza. Sorry to be redundant, but kids do like pizza and this is another one of Modesto's best. The major difference between the two is that Bella has a nicer ambiance and Chef's delivers (you don't even have to leave your hotel). More

My eight years as a hands-on VP has provided me with plenty of experience writing web content, proposals, ad copy, brochures, fliers, promotional material, letters of inquiry (the list could go on and on.) Writing for Save the Turtle's website has provided me with great exposure to the concepts and practices of SEO. It seems that we have done rather well as our Google ranking is most often number one on the page. Although, I am still on the board of Save the Turtles and every bit as passionate about saving endangered species as ever, I am currently also enjoying another incarnation as a freelance writer. I love, love, love writing travel blogs! Lately, I have been writing for Uptake.com. and Mynatour, an eco-travel site based in London. I have also written an number of articles for other sites covering such wide-ranging topics as health, food, real estate, and science. My goal, with each writing assignment, is to match each clients individual needs by writing with an appropriate "voice" and level of readability for each unique, target audience.
