OUR TAKE ON CORTE MADERA

Corte Madera is a quaint, picturesque town nestled in the rolling verdant hills of Northern California. This Marin County favorite is flanked by the San Francisco Bay to the east and Mt. Tamalpais to the west. In Spanish, Corte Madera means “chopped wood.” This area is famous for producing lumber from the local redwood trees which were used for much of  the construction of the city of San Francisco.

Corte Madera reflects the relaxed outdoor lifestyle that is common to much of California. The ample hiking trails make for a pet friendly family vacation, and the dreamy sunsets make it an equally appealing destination for a romantic getaway.

Corte Madera has a variety of things to do and has received a series of favorable reviews in travel guides and tourist literature. You will find several helpful websites such as www.ci.corte-madera.ca.us to help you plan your journey, or stop by the local tourism center to get local suggestions of things to do and see. There is a charming blend of juxtapositions in this town, from sophisticated shopping and world class dining, to more rugged pastimes of biking and horse riding. Costa Madera  is a lovely destination for any California vacation, has something for every visitor to enjoy exploring.
