Carmel, dog-friendly and romantic

A weekend visit to Carmel is a wonderful way to unwind and reconnect with your two- or four-legged companion. We enjoy poking into galleries near Ocean Ave, visiting the beach and exploring local restaurants, along with our furry friend.

Along these 17 miles of California coastline, you will see beautiful ocean views, along-side perfectly manicured golf greens. I love the cypress trees that grow in this part of California - their craggy beauty is so unique and individual.
While 17 Mile drive allows you to cruise in the comfort of your car, Point Lobos State Reserve offers you the opportunity to get up close with the beautiful California coastline. Hike one of the many trails to the coast and watch out for otters and sea lions.
Not only is this a gorgeous beach and great place to spend the day, it is also a dog friendly sanctuary.

One of my favorite restaurants in Carmel, Casanova consistently provides excellent Italian fare at reasonable prices. Romantic, and dog-friendly, with good food and great service. My favorite? The gnocchi!
Pet, family-friendly and blocks from the beach? What more could you want! Right in the downtown area, on Ocean Ave, the Lamplighter Inn is well suited for your stay in Carmel.

Carmel is a shoppers paradise and Ocean Ave, and the side streets, are chock-a-block with interesting boutiques and galleries. I enjoy visiting the Carmel Plaza on my way into town to browse such favorites as Sur La Table, L'Occitane and Anthropologie. More
