OUR TAKE ON BUELLTON
Nestled in the expansive Santa Barbara mountain range lies the lovely town of Buellton, California. Buellton is on of the five cities that comprise the famed Santa Ynez (correctly spelled as both Ynez and Inez ) Valley. Costal and picturesque, this is a delightful place to visit, or to use as a base of exploration for the entire Santa Ynez Valley.
Several historic old missions dot the area, and are a main attraction for visitors. La Purisima Mission houses a mission surrounded by the beautiful State Historic Park. Explore the varied history of this region and then take a stroll along one of the many hiking trails that snake through the park. The Old Mission Santa Inez is another favorite of the old missions to explore. Beautiful and superbly maintained, you will feel as though you’ve stepped back in time as your explore the grounds.
Buellton and the Santa Ynez Valley lie in Santa Barbara County, one of California’s most famous wine making regions. Dozens of vineyards populate this area, and are settled in this stunning peaceful valley flaked by ocean and mountains. A couple of wineries and breweries are in the center of town, and are easily accessible by foot (and you may not want to drive after wine tasting anyway!) The Mosby and Sanford Wineries are located in the center of Buellton, as well as the Firestone-Walker Brewing Company for those tourists with a preference for beer. Buellton is a popular destination for golfers, and there are a variety of restaurants, shops, cafes and bars to keep any traveler well fed and entertained!
