OUR TAKE ON BOLINAS
Bolinas is a quaint costal town in Marin County, near the San Francisco Bay area. Historically known for its reclusive residents, Bolinas has become a more welcoming presence than in its past, and is perfect for a quiet getaway.
Flanked by the Bolinas Lagoon, it is a popular place for boating and fishing. Hiking trails also abound, providing exceptional views of the region, and ample walking trails snake through the region for a less vigorous mode of exploration.
Wooden buildings, funky shops, homey cafes and restaurants line the small streets of this lovely town. Bolinas’ proximity to the culinary splendor of San Francisco necessitates quality cuisine, and its restaurants do not disappoint.
There are a variety of lodging options from hostels for the budget traveler, to B&B’s for a romantic escape, to ranches and farm stays for a more authentic and adventurous experience. Camping and mountain cabins are also available, although these specific types of accommodation are prone to seasonal availability. If you are planning on a longer stay, consider some of these California vacation rentals that are in the Bolinas area.
Most of these places accommodate pets, since Bolinas residents tend to be outdoorsy people and great animal lovers. Check out this great listing for more detailed information.
