OUR TAKE ON BLYTHE
Blythe is an agricultural town but is heavily influenced by tourism because of its equidistant proximity between Los Angeles and Phoenix. Located in the Sonoran Desert, on the Eastern edge of Southern California, Blythe may have started as a stop-over town for motorists passing through, but now boasts attractions in its own right.
It is a desert town located on the lower Colorado River, so its main activities center around water sports. In the summer when the temperatures rise to over 100 degrees, people flock here to take advantage of Blythe’s proximity to the Colorado. Swimming, boating, water-skiing and fishing are all popular pastimes in this rustic town. For those not inclined towards water activities, hiking, off road vehicle sports and hunting are all popular sports as well.
There are a variety of year round street fairs and festivals, from swap car races to and a family fun fair, to the famous Colorado River Country Music Festivals. There will be something to entertain the whole family no matter what time of year you visit. The residents of Blythe are warm and friendly, so bring the whole family and enjoy the activities and hospitality this town has to offer! Check out www.cityofblythe.com for more information.
