OUR TAKE ON BISHOP

Bishop, California is a rustic town in Inyo County located off the I-395. It is after Bishop creek, flowing out of the Sierra Nevada mountains and running through the town.

Bishop is an outdoor lovers paradise, with ample hiking and biking trails nearby, and plenty of lakes and creeks around, perfect for an afternoon of swimming. Fishing is another popular pastime in Bishop with half a dozen lakes dotting the Bishop area. Year round fishing is available in the Owens River Gorge, Pleasant Valley Resevoir and the Lower Owens River, and available in other locations at specific times of the year. Bishop is known as the “Mule Capital of the World” and holds an annual festival over Memorial Day weekend to honor this tradition. This is an outdoorsy, pet friendly and kid-friendly event, which draws tourists from all over the Western United States.
