Berkeley is a wonderful place where one can easily spend many days. If you must spend only one there is plenty of culture, outdoor activities, amazing restaurants, and shopping to keep you occupied. It is also in one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.

If you're looking for a fun educational outing in Berkeley stop by the Phoebe A. Hearst Museum of Anthropology. It houses a great collection featuring cultures from all over the world. Thursdays are free and always free for children.

Berkeley Rose Garden
Why not make a stop with someone special at this romantic spot. The air is clean and fragrant. Bring your tennis racquet too- they have a couple courts. Oh and did I mention that it's free?

If you're in Berkely I recommend you take a stroll through the Gourmet Ghetto. You'd be well advised to stop at Cheeseboard Pizza. Every time I've been there I've always waited in line. Which makes sense because their thin crust pizza is otherworldly.
