OUR TAKE ON AVALON
The City of Avalon, located in a charming cove on Catalina Island, is a water-front town attracting boat-loads of visitors every summer. Several ferry lines and the charter Island Helicopter Service transport tourist into Avalon. Avalon governs motorized transportation, so walking, bicycling, shuttle bus services are complimented by the famous golf carts. Watersports, horseback riding, golfing, and fishing just start the list of Things-To-Do in Avalon.
We enjoyed our stay with the Zane Grey Pueblo Hotel, a delightful Bed and Breakfast Lodging that was the highlight of our trip. The Inn was actually the original home of the famous author, and each suite is named after one of his books! It’s a kid-friendly attraction for quiet, mature children and adults of similar interests and nature. Romantic couples go as far as scheduling their entire wedding and honeymoon package here, and the staff goes to great lengths to accommodate smaller sized, intimate groups.
We recommend the family-friendly Catalina Beach House Hotel for budget-minded, kid-friendly accommodations. Conveniently situated, the rooms are comfortable, clean, and attractively decorated. There are sun patios, barbeques, and kitchenettes right at hand, and this Catalina Hotel is highly rated by Travel Guides and satisfied customers. Include The Catalina Island Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Bureau in your planning.
