One Day in Arnold

Hand-angels-camp

Arnold California is conveniently located in the Sierra foothills. From here, you can easily tour the lovely gold rush towns, hike in the mountains or go skiing in winter. Be sure to visit The Calaveras Big Trees State Park to see the largest trees on earth. Stop off in Angels Camp to shop and visit the museum and if time permits, visit the many natural limestone caverns in the region.

This lovely mountain getaway offers rooms starting at $84 per night! The owners of this lovely inn--conveniently located for shopping and site seeing--have generously lowered their rates because they realize "times are hard right now". Only 4 rooms so book in advance.
Arnold's Black Bear Bed & Breakfast is sooo lovely and so great for families I just had to include it as a top choice. Check the reviews, it's hard to find one that rates Arnolds Black Bear below 5 stars. At the Black Bear you will be close to gold rush towns as well as Big Trees State Park, skiing and shopping.

The giant Sequoia Redwoods in this park are the biggest trees on earth. Open year-round you can take snow-shoe treks in winter, camp, picnic and hike the rest of the year. When the weather is warm you can swim in the Stanislaus River that runs through the park.
This is a fun and educational experience for adults and kids. The carriage house displays antique stage coaches and buggies. Kids will like the outdoors interactive gold mining display and the Hogarth Stamp Mill. Adults, be sure to check out the new Mark Twain exhibit.
This romantic and cozy little restaurant is the place to go in the area for incredible Italian food. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is prompt, yet relaxed. For a causal, take-your-time-kind-of-meal, this is the perfect place to go.

I am the Vice President of an international, non-profit conservation organization, Save the Turtles, Inc. My eight years as a hands-on VP has provided me with plenty of experience writing web content, proposals, ad copy, brochures, fliers, promotional material, letters of inquiry (the list could go on and on.) Writing for Save the Turtle's website has provided me with great exposure to the concepts and practices of SEO. It seems that we have done rather well as our Google ranking is most often number one on the page. Although, I am still on the board of Save the Turtles and every bit as passionate about saving endangered species as ever, I am currently also enjoying another incarnation as a freelance writer. I love, love, love writing travel blogs! Lately, I have been writing for Uptake.com. and Mynatour, an eco-travel site based in London. I have also written an number of articles for other sites covering such wide-ranging topics as health, food, real estate, and science. My goal, with each writing assignment, is to match each clients individual needs by writing with an appropriate "voice" and level of readability for each unique, target audience. Please feel free to scroll and read!
