Angel's Camp Weekend with the Kids

Hand-angels-camp

Only a couple of hours from the Bay Area, Angels Camp is a lovely gold rush town and a fun place to bring the kids. The little ones will love to explore the many natural wonders in the area, such as the Moaning Caverns or The Calaveras Big Trees State Park, with its giant Sequoia Redwood trees. For a change of pace, take the kids to see some historical / educational exhibits like the Angel's Camp Museum with its stage coaches and mining displays.

Cooper house is all about comfort and being in a homey environment. The hosts Tay and Robert, definitely go full nine yards for their guests. Robert's mom even makes the handmade chocolate treats that you will find in your room when you arrive.
Arnold's Black Bear Bed & Breakfast is sooo lovely and so great for families I just had to include it as a top choice. Check the reviews, it's hard to find one that rates Arnolds Black Bear below 5 stars. At the Black Bear you will be close to gold rush towns as well as Big Trees State Park, skiing and shopping.
Visitors to Angel's camp tend to love this reasonably priced restaurant with fine Italian dining and tasty lunch offerings like Gorgonzola Burgers.

Everybody loves pizza and Mikes Pizza is a good place to take the kids for some causal fare. The pizza here is really good. You can get pesto, chicken barbecue or traditional favorites. If you are looking for special atmosphere you won't find it here, but if you are looking for good pizza, Mike's is the place.
The giant Sequoia Redwoods in this park are the biggest trees on earth. Open year-round, you can take snow-shoe treks in winter, camp, picnic and hike the rest of the year. When the weather is warm you can swim in the Stanislaus River that runs through the park.

I am the Vice President of an international, non-profit conservation organization, Save the Turtles, Inc. My eight years as a hands-on VP has provided me with plenty of experience writing web content, proposals, ad copy, brochures, fliers, promotional material, letters of inquiry (the list could go on and on.) Writing for Save the Turtle's website has provided me with great exposure to the concepts and practices of SEO. It seems that we have done rather well as our Google ranking is most often number one on the page. Although, I am still on the board of Save the Turtles and every bit as passionate about saving endangered species as ever, I am currently also enjoying another incarnation as a freelance writer. I love, love, love writing travel blogs! Lately, I have been writing for Uptake.com. and Mynatour, an eco-travel site based in London. I have also written an number of articles for other sites covering such wide-ranging topics as health, food, real estate, and science. My goal, with each writing assignment, is to match each clients individual needs by writing with an appropriate "voice" and level of readability for each unique, target audience. Please feel free to scroll and read!
