Alameda Vacations, Tourism & Travel Information

OUR TAKE ON ALAMEDA

Alameda California sits on the North side of Oakland Bay, just off the Golden Gate Bridge.  Travel Guides rate Alameda highly for its quaint Victorian homes, shaded along tree lined streets.  Families, singles and romantic couples flock to Alameda, escaping the crowds in nearby San Francisco.

With a wealth of things to do, Alameda California is a great setting for Family vacations.  Be sure to make a stop at Alameda’s Neptune Beach Amusement Museum, where you can attend pinball expositions, learn about historic Neptune Beach, or try your luck on vintage pinball machines.  This group hopes to revive the Neptune Beach Amusement Center.  Alameda Visitors can travel to the Crab Cove Center and Crown Memorial Beach for a fun day of swimming, fishing, kite-boarding, wind surfing, sunbathing, and strolling along the popular walkway.  Although dogs are prohibited from the beach itself, they’re allowed on the lawn and other areas of the park. Enjoy a picnic on the sand or at one of the picnic tables, with barbeque pits available.

Romantic Couples visiting Alameda love the  Webster House Bed & Breakfast for lodging.  This B&B is a City Historic Monument, welcoming visitors with afternoon tea and a full breakfast of any choice—the staff caters to vegetarian and specialty diets.  North California Tourism Guides rated the Webster with their “Best Places Award” four years in a row!  For Family Lodging, the Coral Reef Inn and Suites offers comfortable accommodations, reasonable rates, and a heated outdoor swimming pool for the kids.
