OUR TAKE ON AGOURA HILLS
Agoura Hills lists itself as “The Gateway to the Santa Monica Mountains.” The famous Ventura Highway resulted in massive growth at Agoura Hills; as a result, you’ll find a wide range of lodging, dining, and California Activities in the area.
We decided to splurge with a stay at Santa Monica Landmark Hotel, the Georgian Hotel. We enjoyed an incredible ocean view from our window, leaving our car parked all weekend. It was just a short walk down to the Santa Monica Pier, with plenty of water sports, fishing, and boating activity. We breakfasted outdoors, and enjoyed the nearby shopping. Although pricey, the Georgian Hotel offers all amenities and convenience, and even offers pet-friendly accommodations for small to medium sized animals!
For longer stays during your Aguoura Hills vacation, we recommend the Good Nite Inn at Calabasas for great rates and comfy rooms. There’s even a pool and Jacuzzi here.
Be sure to visit the Santa Monica Recreation Area a wide variety of things to do in Augura Hills. Pet friendly, kid friendly, and secluded enough for romantic couples, this place has everything within its 150,000 acres. We enjoyed snorkeling, swimming, and surfing along the 50 miles of ocean shoreline, as well as fishing, hiking, biking, and camping.
