Written by Dan Smith, this blog gives in depth information about Ocean City, Maryland–from fishing spots to vacation days to real estate. After all, who doesn’t dream of a home at the beach?
Ron Watts, a realtor in Sunset Beach, North Carolina, gives all sorts of ideas for vacationing in Sunset Beach from a local perspective. It is a well-written blog about a beautiful area. Check it out.

Written by a self-proclaimed beach bum, David McCree is also paid by VisitFlorida to be their resident beach expert. He was raised in Florida and evidently goes to beaches all the time. Lucky for us, he is a good writer and conveys his interest of all things beach with a laid back style.
The OC Register Beach Blog offers news, events and surf reports on a regular basis. It reflects the attitude of its readers and the area. Look for wierd stories, tips on saving gas, guides to the top beaches and of course, shark reports and volleyball. It is comprehensive. Be sure to bookmark it if you are planning on taking a vacation there anytime soon or if you just like to read a great beach blog once in a while and pretend you can surf.
The writer of this blog seems to want to stay anonymous. But whoever it is, they have done a great job of providing short summaries on many Florida beaches.
You have to like a blog with a mule as a mascot, especially when it gives you all the information about Hawaii and its renowned beaches. The authors discuss airfare,hiking, restaurants and much more from sea turtles to jellyfish. A good read.
I just have to quote the blog, ” Sun & Sin is a blog about springbreak and party vacations. You know, those types of vacations where bars are visited instead of museums.” If you don’t mind a lot of photos of women in bikinis, it gives some good tips for partying around a beach, not necessarily swimming at the beach. It even provides drinking advice. Very helpful.
This blog gives informatoin about the “real Outer Banks of North Carolina.” It feels local and it is, a favorite source for information.
This blog makes me aware of all the happenings on California beaches from business stories, nude beach dilemmas and much more. It does wander off subject once in a while, but when it is focused it gives insights into the surf and the tourism business of beaches. Worth a look if you are planning on going to a few beaches in California sometime soon.
