Since we have a bunch of travelers in our family, we all try to find interesting travel accessories to give each other during the holidays. Because I don’t want to reveal my Christmas gift list yet (in case my family is reading this blog!), I give you my wish list of travel gadgets and gear that I would like to receive this holiday season (hint, hint):

GorrillapodThe Joby Gorillapod flexible tripod
I actually gave this last year to my Dad and brother-in-law, but failed to ask Santa for one for me. These are great – they come in different sizes to support cameras from your little point&shoot up to an SLR with zoom lenses. The legs bend this way and that and can be attached to anything. I would love this tripod for family photos on the road, when we cannot seem to find a handy third party to take the photo for us!

Eagle Creek TarmacEagle Creek Tarmac ES 25
This bag has received the Money Magazine Field Test winner award and I just love how it integrates with the Eagle PacketIt system. Tim at Practical Travel Gear has some first hand knowledge of these packing cubes. With a piece of luggage and packing help, the torture of organizing for a trip would surely be reduced.

SIGG BottleSIGG 1.0L Traveler Classic Reusable Bottle
Basically any bottle in the SIGG line would be great to receive this season. These Swiss-engineered aluminum bottles are great for travel, especially with the loop top which can be attached via carabiner to your carry-on bag. I usually take an empty water bottle with me fill it up on the other side of security before boarding my plane. This SIGG bottle would make me look stylish and green, at the same time!

Terra PassTerraPass Flight Offset
In keeping with the green theme of the prior suggestion, a carbon offset for my upcoming vacation to Europe would be much appreciated. Buying this offset allows TerraPass to fund carbon reduction projects (such as wind energy and farm power), while letting me feel better about the environmental impact of my travels. The Flight Offset even comes with a luggage tag to announce my environmental pride. TerraPass has other green gadgets that would surely be welcome under anyone’s holiday tree.

1st Class Sleeper1st Class Sleeper
My traveling friends over at Stanford Travel|Study recommended this handy accessory for my next over-the-ocean flight. A long pillow that you puff up once on board, it fits behind your head, all the way down to your waist, and is supposed to cushion your body and allow for more restful sleep. Because these friends travel so much more than I do, I am going to take their word for it. And since there is no chance I can afford First Class tickets to Europe, this product seems like a good compromise!

Sheila at Family Travel has an extensive list of gift idea lists from across the internet. Jeanne over at Coach Class has more useful ideas for travel gifts. And Tim from Practical Travel Gear also has some good information about free shipping and other holiday shopping discounts, so my would-be gift givers can save some moolah while making my Christmas Merry and Bright!

What is on your holiday list this season that will help you with your travels? Share, share, so the rest of us can ask for one too!
