The Moon and the Monument

Okay, so Monument Valley isn’t the typical kind of monument we feature in this series. You can’t argue it’s awesomeness, so we’ll just chalk its inclusion up to semantics and enjoy the moment.

Take your time.

This post is part of the UpTake Monday Museums, Monuments and Memorials Series.

Banksy Tags San Francisco

There is no lack of art and culture in San Francisco, one of the best cities that America has to offer (no, I don’t work for their department of tourism), but should you want to see something off the beaten path then take a walk through Chinatown. You’re probably going there anyway.

This original Banksy has been preserved by someone who understands great art isn’t just hanging on museum walls — sometimes it’s in the form of graffiti. Believe it.

This post is part of the UpTake Public Art Series. If you see an interesting piece of public art, snap a picture and send it in. We’ll feature it on UpTake!

We’ve been inspired! This series usually showcases various pieces of commissioned public art, and we’ll continue to do so, but for the next few weeks we’re going to look at some awesome street art, too.

Popular Spots in St. Petersburg

There are, I imagine, numerous places to hang out in St. Petersburg, Russia. These men happen to enjoy the company of an old factory. To each their own.

Normally I’d link to a handful of posts and things to do in St. Petersburg, but our archives appear a bit thin in the Russian area. So how about St. Petersburg, Florida? I hear it’s nice.

This post is a Wordless Wednesday entry, but you know those guys are saying something.

How Did the Titantic Not See This?

As you probably know, the portion of the iceberg visible above water is just a fraction of the floating mountain chilling in said water. Who says that size doesn’t matter? It’s rather intimidating.

This particular beauty was found, along with new land, in Newfoundland, Canada. However, we have a wonderful selection of icebergs right here in the good ol’ U.S. of A. for your viewing pleasure — in Alaska. Basically, there’s cold stuff for you at on both sides of the continent, take your pick.

Don’t forget to pack a jacket.

This post is a Wordless Wednesday entry. Words included at no extra charge.
