“Hey kids, this is a gas pump,” is what I hope to say in the near future as it joins my explanations of, and introductions to, the home telephone, the record player, and the planet Pluto. Except it won’t be this actual pump because I probably won’t be in Winfall, Virginia. But you never know.
I’m spending hundreds of dollars per month on gas and I work at home! Frankly, I’m against it.
We may actually have to cancel our upcoming holiday plans due to the cost of fuel. That ain’t right. However, if it’s a choice between presents for the kids and driving 800 miles, that’s a gimme.
Take a good luck, everyone. Hopefully they will all look like this soon enough.
Are gas prices affecting your travel plans?
This post is a Wordless Wednesday entry with a tangent-filled rant directly beneath it. You probably noticed that part.

Brad Paisley is clean as a whistle – a family guy, and the only thing that keeps him in the limelight (and on the road) is his voice, his lyrics and his guitar.
For country singers, doing the honky-tonks of Route 66 is a rite of passage. Brad Paisley did one better, and got himself instant fame in a TLC special by performing Route 66 (the song) live on a bridge in Kansas.
Being on the road with Brad Paisley certainly doesn’t involve any of the usual hedonistic pursuits that celebrity performers wallow in. So what does it feel like?

Bad drivers are everywhere.
It’s the Labor Day weekend. Finally. Kids have been back in school for DAYS now and they need some down time. Also, parents.
Here’s the thing about the 3-day weekends. Everybody gets them (except those that don’t and I’m sorry to add to your frustration) and as such people are out and many of them are also about. Everybody, and often their brother, are going someplace, anyplace to make that last piece of summer stretch. Must. Save. Summer. Read More »
