Brad Paisley at the White House
Meet Brad Douglas Paisley – country music singer, song writer and guitarist all rolled into one.
And now he’s got himself another 7 nominations to this year’s County Music Association Awards, which by the way – he’s co-hosting again with Carrie Underwood on Nov 11 in Nashville, TN.
Brad Paisley is clean as a whistle – a family guy, and the only thing that keeps him in the limelight (and on the road) is his voice, his lyrics and his guitar.
For country singers, doing the honky-tonks of Route 66 is a rite of passage. Brad Paisley did one better, and got himself instant fame in a TLC special by performing Route 66 (the song) live on a bridge in Kansas.
Being on the road with Brad Paisley certainly doesn’t involve any of the usual hedonistic pursuits that celebrity performers wallow in. So what does it feel like?

Bad drivers are everywhere.
It’s the Labor Day weekend. Finally. Kids have been back in school for DAYS now and they need some down time. Also, parents.
Here’s the thing about the 3-day weekends. Everybody gets them (except those that don’t and I’m sorry to add to your frustration) and as such people are out and many of them are also about. Everybody, and often their brother, are going someplace, anyplace to make that last piece of summer stretch. Must. Save. Summer. Read More »

Traveling is expensive. This is not news.
Traveling with kids can be an exercise in restraint. It happens.
Kids need a moment to run, stretch and yell. And possibly air out. You know, kid stuff. What kids don’t need, however, is something that costs a lot of money. Sure, they’d be pleased as punch to stop at an arcade or amusement park, and maybe you will, but don’t underestimate the appeal of a rest area hill and a piece of cardboard.
Granted, you may not have a piece of cardboard in the family truckster, but you do have imagination and a road open with possibilities.
After all, it’s the trip, not the destination.

Are you traveling with children? Do they stink? It happens.
Why wait until the next hotel to rinse them off? That body of water you’re passing? Throw them in it.
It’s like a bath.

Innovation Analysis Group does a bunch of cool stuff, but that didn’t stop them from hosting yours truly in their ongoing series of travel-related podcasts.
