Traditional Irish Breakfast

You can really get anything you would want to eat in Ireland.  Chain restaurants abound- including TGIFriday’s, McDonald’s and Burger King.  But why eat the “same old food” when you’re on vacation?  Experience Ireland through its food and you’ll have memories that will stay with you always.

Breakfast

It really doesn’t matter where you stay in Ireland, bed and breakfast or hotel, you will most likely be offered a traditional Irish breakfast in the morning.  While it is a heavy breakfast you should try it at least once.  Not only will it fuel your sightseeing through mid-afternoon but you can brag to your friends that you ate- and enjoyed!- black pudding (aka blood sausage).  An Irish breakfast usually consists of rasher bacon, sausage, black pudding, fried potatoes, an egg, a fried tomato and brown bread.  Often accompanying this is a sideboard filled with granola, yogurt and fruit.  Read More »

Happy Stomachs Make for Happy Trips


Not that one should ever need an excuse to eat ice cream, but should you need an extra bit of justification blame it on vacation.  Vacations can be as healthy as you want them to be, but why? You’re on vacation.  If you see ice cream eat it.

Also acceptable, churros, anything deep-fried or anything on a stick.  Frozen yogurt can replace ice cream, but only if topped with chocolate or some like vice.
