Fall Golfing in the Greater Catskills

Do you need a golf getaway?  There’s plenty of fall golfing still to be had in the Great Northern Catskills of New York, and several hotels and golf courses are offering special golf packages and deals.  In addition, the Greene International Golf Association’s nine participating courses are offering two-for-the-price-of-one green fees to Greene Card Holders.  Sign up for the pass here and you’ll receive buy-one, get-one green fees and passes to additional attractions in the Catskill Region.  Here are some of the other packages:

At the Sunny Hill Golf Course, with the all-inclusive Golfer’s Getaway Package (starting at $115 per person, per night) you’ll receive free unlimited golf, accommodations, three meals daily and nightly entertainment.

The Thunderhart Golf Course at Sunny Hill is offering mid-week fall foliage Stay and Play Packages including accommodations, 18 holes of golf with car, free same-day replay, breakfast and dinner starting at $99 per person, per night.

The Christman’s Windham House (pictured above) is offering weekday and weekend golf packages with all-inclusive fall golfing.

At the Blackhead Mountain Lodge and Country Club, you’ll get two nights’ accommodations, two breakfasts and dinners, and two rounds of 18-hole golf with a cart for just $225 with the stay and Play package.

Of course anywhere in the North East is going to boast spectacular fall foliage.  The Acadia National Park offers gorgeous views and extensive Ranger-led educational programs so that you can learn more about what you’re staring at.  Make sure to head to Bar Harbor Maine before the end of October to take full advantage of the sights and services available.

2.  Oak Mountain State Park – Alabama

Oak Mountain State Park is Alabama’s largest state park.  This nearly 10,000 acre forest is featured on several sight seeing lists.  Admission is only $3 for adults on weekends and holidays.  You can visit the park for fall foliage viewing from 7am to sundown.

3.  Mt. Washington – New Hampshire

While it’s typical to see fall foliage while you’re driving, the Mount offers guided cruises on the M/S Mount Washington.  Starting Sunday, September 27, the Mount will offer Fall Foliage Dinner Cruises from 4:30 to 7 p.m. each Sunday through mid-October.
