Wrigley Field
You really can’t get to know Chicago without a visit to one of our ballparks. This is a big sports town and no where is Chicago bravado and spirit more on display than at a baseball game. Although I’m not specifically recommending Wrigley Field since I’m a Sox fan, if you don’t plan on heading to the Southside, you may as well tour Wrigley Field. The 90-minute guided tours will provide a glimpse of the behind the scenes workings of Chicago’s second best team. Read More »

'UpTake' on the 114th Boston Marathon Finish Line
22,628 + me completed the 114th Boston Marathon one week ago and I am still buzzing from the runner’s high. This year’s Baaston Marathon was off the hook fun!!
Why?? New England in the springtime is simply glorious and if you are running a race or not, the magnolias in full bloom, the proud daffodils brightly shining in the sunlight and the scullers rhythmically counting the turns of their oars on the glistening Charles River are moments that call for an ‘UpTake.’ Yup, that’s right, a moment to sit outside in a park, sip some hot tea, look UP at the sky and TAKE some time to say “yes, life is good.” On race day, I was not sipping tea but the weather was perfect, the flowers were bursting and the the crowds were loud!!!

UpTake on the USS Constitution, Boston
Happy Patriot Day and Happy Marathon Monday! Today is the day of the 114th running of the Boston Marathon and I am running with 22,000 marathoners from all around the world. May the wind be at my back filling my sails as I cruise across the finish line, arms in the air, crowd cheering and the ‘Rocky’ theme song playing in my head. Such a sweet moment!!
Speaking of sails, this ‘UpTake’ is yet another image dedicated to Boston. What you are looking at here is the riggings of the USS Constitution, also known as Old Ironsides, the oldest commissioned naval vessel afloat in the world. She was ordered in 1794, launched in 1797 and named by George Washington. She was retired from active service in 1881. In 1931 she started a three year 90-port tour of the nations and in 1997 she finally sailed again under her own power for her 200th birthday. Wow! Read More »

Peanuts, Cracker Jack and cotton candy... the bread and butter of Dodger Stadium.
Thank goodness, Major League Baseball has returned and with it a united America (possible exceptions include Yankee and Red Sox fans).
Are you ready for some hot dogs wrapped in foil, $9 beers and all the cotton candy you can eat (or stick to you)? Then play ball!
There’s a ballpark in most major cities throughout the country. How many have you been to?
