Why Did the Rooster Cross the Road?

To quote one of my favorite strolls into the spirit world, the classic western, Young Guns, “Did you guys see the size of that chicken?”

Well, thanks to this roadside attraction in Wisconsin (just drive around, you’ll find it), you can answer in the affirmative. You did see the size of that chicken, and it was wearing an awesome hat.

Roadside attractions are the best.

Meet Mr. Peanut

If this roadside nut in Plains, Georgia reminds you of someone then congratulations, you recognize the smile of President Jimmy Carter. Have a peanut.

Mr. Carter is from the town of Plains, Georgia where he made his living as a peanut farmer before venturing into politics. The statue is all in good fun, and frankly, the resemblance is uncanny.

Do you know of any other roadside tributes to political leaders? If not, stick around, we have another one coming up next week! Hint: It’s really, really big.

South Carolina’s Primary Place for Pancakes

South Carolina is in the news this week because of the GOP race. Don’t let that keep you from grabbing a short stack of Dino’s pancakes. In fact, four out of five candidates agree that breakfast should be the first meal of the day. And how do you pass up the best breakfast in North Myrtle Beach?

If you plan on visiting the Myrtle Beach area make sure you check out the new sky wheel and their popular boardwalk! Also, vote.

New Hampshire’s Primary Diner

The eyes of America are on New Hampshire today, but what about the stomachs? Sure, everyone is making time to vote, but what about time to dine? Ask Bobby (or his girl), dining is important. I’m actually surprised it hasn’t come up in the debates.

I’ve been to New Hampton, New Hampshire (or through it as the case may be), but I didn’t spot this diner. Too bad, I’m a sucker for cool signs, romantic gestures, and bacon.

New Hampshire is a great year-round destination for family vacations. Also, voting.
