Pele the Parrot
My kids and I found this green cheeked conure parrot in our backyard. It was returned to a very grateful owner. You can see flocks of these parrots in the wild in Brazil and Argentina.

What a beautiful bird. I’m sure the owner was delighted to see it again!
No kidding! Those guys sell for hundreds of dollars. And I guess non-bird people like me don’t ever fully understand it, but bird people get just as attached to their birds as we dog people do to our dogs. In some cases, maybe even more attached since a parrot’s life expectancy is about 3 or 4 times that of a dog.
