This was the tallest structure in the world until 1930. When it was first constructed it was considered an eyesore and is now the most visited monument in the world. Originally this structure was planned to be built in Barcelona, but is now the iconic symbol of one of the most romantic cities in the world.
Mais, bien sur! It is the Eiffel Tower in the city of lights. Paris can UP and TAKE your breath away! A Seine side picnic with a bagette, fromage and a bottle of wine after lazily exploring the Musee D’Orsay breathlessly whispers de l’amour. Yes, it is a truly historic and culturally rich city, but really a coffee and crepe in Montmartre while sitting across a cafe table from the one who makes you bajiggity trumps Notre Dame.
If you cannot have Paris this weekend, get yourself a few wedges of stinky french cheese with the appropriate accoutrements, a bottle of bordeaux, load some Edith Piaf on the iPod and practice saying “je t’aime cheri(e).”
