July 4th Celebrations in Arizona
If you’re going to be in Arizona during the July 4th weekend, here are some celebrations that are going on around the state. There’s something going on in virtually every town, but here are ten key events that are sure to please:
Phoenix: Enjoy the 24th Annual Fabulous Phoenix 4th, at Steele Indian School Park. Entertainment (on three stages!) begins at 6:00 p.m., with the fireworks show beginning at 9:20. The event features local entertainment, a cooling misting area, inflatable rides, a Classic Car exhibit, food and beverage vendors, and a water spray zone manned by the Phoenix Fire Department.
Tempe: Check out the 58th annual Tempe 4th of July Festival, taking place in Tempe Beach Park alongside the man-made Tempe Town Lake. The extravagant fireworks show, local food vendors, and live entertainment more than make up for the crowds.
Peoria: Celebrate the holiday at the July 4th All American Festival, being held at the Peoria Sports Complex. Enjoy the Prep All-Star Showcase baseball game, an F-16 flyover, a kids zone, food, and fireworks.
Cave Creek: Harolds Cave Creek Corral is hosting their annual July 3rd Fireworks Extravaganza, complete with live music and an outside barbecue. Last year’s show sold out, so make sure you buy your tickets in advance!
Scottsdale: Check out the Arcadia 4th of July Parade and Potluck Breakfast, sponsored by the neighborhood’s local businesses. The parade starts at 8:00, and the route begins on the southeast corner of Jokake Drive and Calle Tuberia in Scottsdale.
Morristown: Island Hop Breakfast Paddle – Lake Pleasant. Looking for something different to do on the 4th? Are you an avid paddler? Then a breakfast paddle on Lake Pleasant is for you! Bring your own kayak or canoe, or rent from Scorpion Bay rentals. Breakfast is free with park entrance, though donations are appreciated.
Surprise: Enjoy the 27th Annual 4th of July Celebration in Surprise Stadium. This year’s event will feature a Rookie League Baseball Game between the Texas Rangers and the Chicago Cubs. Admission is FREE with a canned food donation, which is a great deal for the amount of concessions, kids games and play zones, and a 20-minute fireworks show.
Chandler: Celebrate with Chandler’s 4th of July 7UP Fireworks Spectacular, taking place in Tumbleweed Park. Enjoy live music, a carnival, a bike parade, classic cars on display, kids amusements, and food and drink.
Flagstaff: July 4th celebrations are done up in style in this cool northern Arizona town. Events begin on July 1st with concerts in Bushmaster Park, and continue throughout the week with horse races, art shows, a parade through downtown Flagstaff, and fireworks at the Flagstaff Mall & The Marketplace.
Tucson: This southern Arizona city is celebrating Independence Day in a variety of ways. Leading up to the 9:00 p.m. fireworks at the Tucson Convention Center are concerts, baseball games, and other festival events throughout the city.
