The Easter Bunny will drop in at the annual event

Dive for eggs  with the stately backdrop of  historic Victorian homes during the annual  Prairie District Neighborhood Alliance Easter egg hunt.  Enjoy an afternoon of family fun including searching for 6,000 eggs in the Chicago’s Women’s Park and Gardens, a petting zoo, piñatas and a  requisite visit from the Easter bunny.

Scheduled for 12:15 PM on April 23, the event will draw families from all over and is suggested for kids 10 and under.  The Chicago Women’s Park and Gardens, located at 1827 S. Indiana, supplies winding paths, a French garden and a marble fountain on four acres of serene landscaping.  The hunt doesn’t just provide candy and toy-filled eggs but prizes such as 200 White Sox tickets and  five $100 Target gift certificates.  Carnival games and refreshments will be available at the adjacent Glessnor House Museum. The Glessnor House is a historic landmark completed in 1887 by architect Henry Hobson Richardson and it’s radical departure from traditional Victorian structure helped serve as an inspiration for Frank Lloyd Wright . The park also houses The Clarke House museum, a Greek Revival style house that stands as Chicago’s oldest house.  Admission for the event is $10 for children and $3 for adults. Reservations are required at 312-401-2688.   After the hunting and games, relax at another Chicago landmark in the area, the Renaissance Blackstone Hotel. The luxury Michigan avenue hotel has hosted presidents and royalty since 1910.
