Walking Dixie Land Jazz Band

The quaint Little River Waterfront
As the weather cools and the crowds head home, the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area continues to supply lots of fall cultural activities often unexpected in beach communities.
Kick off your autumn fun with flavorful food and music on October 10-11 at the Shrimp & Jazz Festival in nearby Little River, SC. Relax on the historic waterfront that once harbored Captain Kidd and Blackbeard and catch sounds like the rollicking Voodoo Flute or follow a strolling Dixieland jazz band. The music is free flowing and contagious, so expect to see as many people dancing and bopping their heads as you do sampling the seafood goodies.
As for the food, expect to be constantly tempted. Nibble on fresh, locally caught shrimp and watch the famed Shrimp Cookoff where expert local chefs pit their shrimp cokking skills against each other. This is a family-friendly event with arts & crafts and games for the kids. I recommend picking up a few homemade pralines for the kids or if you’re a sugar fiend like me, a dozen or so for yourself, and basking in the South Carolina sun as the live jazz floats through the area.
Located just 20 minutes from Myrtle Beach, this quaint fishing village hosts the fest from 10 AM-8PM on Saturday and 10 AM-6PM on Sunday.
